- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets, steamed and chopped
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cooking spray or olive oil for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it with cooking spray or olive oil.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the steamed and chopped broccoli, cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, cream cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix until well combined.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the balls are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- To enhance the flavor, consider adding chopped fresh herbs like parsley or chives to the mixture.
- For a spicier kick, mix in some diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce.
- You can also substitute the cheddar cheese with mozzarella or feta for a different taste.
