Description

A quick and delicious recipe for Beef with Oyster Sauce, perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with cornstarch, soy sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Let it marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the sliced bell pepper and broccoli florets to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet. In a small bowl, mix the oyster sauce, water, and sugar. Pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables, stirring to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Serve the beef with oyster sauce over cooked rice.

Notes

  • For added flavor, marinate the beef overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Substitute the vegetables with your favorites, such as snap peas, carrots, or mushrooms, for a different twist.
