Description

Discover the perfect recipe for the best chocolate chip cookies that are soft, chewy, and loaded with chocolate chips.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (2 sticks)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt together until creamy and smooth, about 2 minutes.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula or wooden spoon.
  7. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For chewier cookies, chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before baking.
  • Try adding 1/2 cup of chopped nuts, such as walnuts or pecans, for added texture and flavor.
