Description

A comforting and delicious Cheesy Garlic Potato Bake that combines layers of creamy potatoes with melted cheese and garlic.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Stir well to combine.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle with half of the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
  4. Add the remaining potato slices on top, followed by the rest of the cream mixture. Top with the remaining cheese.
  5. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  6. After 45 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown, and the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a bit of heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the cream mixture.
  • You can substitute half of the potatoes with sweet potatoes for a different flavor and added nutrition.
