Description

A delightful and easy-to-make treat that combines the flavors of strawberry shortcake with the fun of puppy chow.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup freeze-dried strawberries, crushed
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup strawberry cake mix (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, measure out the Rice Chex cereal and set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and vanilla extract. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
  3. Pour the melted chocolate over the Rice Chex cereal and gently fold until all the cereal is evenly coated.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the crushed freeze-dried strawberries, powdered sugar, strawberry cake mix (if using), and a pinch of salt.
  5. Transfer the coated cereal to a large resealable plastic bag or a large bowl. Add the strawberry mixture and shake or stir until the cereal is well coated.
  6. Spread the puppy chow on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to cool for about 30 minutes.
  7. Once cooled, serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to a week.
