Description
French Toast Waffles are a delicious twist on traditional breakfast, combining the flavors of French toast with the convenience of waffles.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 slices of bread (thick-cut, such as brioche or Texas toast)
- Cooking spray or melted butter (for the waffle iron)
- Maple syrup (for serving)
- Powdered sugar (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Lightly grease it with cooking spray or melted butter.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side to absorb the liquid.
- Place the soaked bread slices onto the preheated waffle iron. Close the lid and cook according to your waffle iron’s instructions, usually about 3-5 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
- Carefully remove the waffles and repeat the process with the remaining slices of bread.
- Serve warm with maple syrup drizzled on top and a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
- For a twist, try adding a tablespoon of peanut butter to the egg mixture for added flavor.
- You can also top the waffles with fresh berries or sliced bananas for a fruity touch.
