Description

Deliciously crispy fried sandwiches filled with a creamy strawberry cheesecake mixture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Additional powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gently fold in the sliced strawberries.
  2. Spread the strawberry cheesecake mixture evenly on two slices of bread, then top with the remaining slices to create sandwiches.
  3. In three separate shallow dishes, place the flour in one, whisk the egg and milk together in another, and put the breadcrumbs in the third.
  4. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Dip each sandwich first into the flour, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  6. Carefully place the sandwiches in the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove the sandwiches from the oil and drain on paper towels. Dust with additional powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • For a chocolate twist, drizzle melted chocolate over the sandwiches before serving.
  • You can substitute the strawberries with other fruits like blueberries or raspberries for a different flavor.
