Description
Deliciously crispy fried sandwiches filled with a creamy strawberry cheesecake mixture.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Additional powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gently fold in the sliced strawberries.
- Spread the strawberry cheesecake mixture evenly on two slices of bread, then top with the remaining slices to create sandwiches.
- In three separate shallow dishes, place the flour in one, whisk the egg and milk together in another, and put the breadcrumbs in the third.
- Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Dip each sandwich first into the flour, then into the egg mixture, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
- Carefully place the sandwiches in the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the sandwiches from the oil and drain on paper towels. Dust with additional powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- For a chocolate twist, drizzle melted chocolate over the sandwiches before serving.
- You can substitute the strawberries with other fruits like blueberries or raspberries for a different flavor.
