Description

A delightful dish featuring Greek turkey meatballs served with a refreshing tzatziki sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • For the Tzatziki Sauce:
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and excess water squeezed out
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, onion, garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Drizzle the olive oil over the meatballs and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until they are cooked through and golden brown.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, prepare the tzatziki sauce. In a medium bowl, mix together the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  6. Once the meatballs are done, serve them warm with the tzatziki sauce on the side.

Notes

  • For added flavor, try adding feta cheese to the meatball mixture.
  • If you prefer a spicier kick, incorporate some red pepper flakes into the meatball mix.
  • Serve the meatballs over a bed of quinoa or with pita bread for a complete meal.
