Description
A quick and easy stir-fry recipe featuring ground beef and broccoli in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cups broccoli florets
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice or quinoa, for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- While the beef is cooking, steam the broccoli florets until bright green and tender-crisp, about 3-4 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Once the beef is cooked, add the steamed broccoli to the skillet. Pour the honey-soy mixture over the beef and broccoli, stirring to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and well-coated.
- Serve the stir-fry over cooked rice or quinoa. Enjoy!
Notes
- For added crunch, toss in some sliced bell peppers or snap peas along with the broccoli.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, or use tofu for a vegetarian version.
