Description

A quick and easy stir-fry recipe featuring ground beef and broccoli in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice or quinoa, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. While the beef is cooking, steam the broccoli florets until bright green and tender-crisp, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  5. Once the beef is cooked, add the steamed broccoli to the skillet. Pour the honey-soy mixture over the beef and broccoli, stirring to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and well-coated.
  6. Serve the stir-fry over cooked rice or quinoa. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For added crunch, toss in some sliced bell peppers or snap peas along with the broccoli.
  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, or use tofu for a vegetarian version.
