Description

Delicious and hearty French Onion Beef Sloppy Joes that are sure to delight your taste buds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup French onion dip
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened and translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Season with salt, black pepper, and dried thyme. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and beef broth, bringing the mixture to a simmer. Allow it to cook for about 5 minutes, letting the flavors meld together.
  5. Stir in the French onion dip until well combined.
  6. Toast the hamburger buns if desired. Spoon the beef mixture onto the bottom half of each bun, then top with shredded Swiss cheese. Place the top half of the bun on each sandwich.
  7. Serve immediately, or place under a broiler for 2-3 minutes to melt the cheese and toast the buns further.

Notes

  • For an extra kick, add a splash of hot sauce to the beef mixture.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • Serve with a side of crispy potato wedges or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
