Description
A quick and easy recipe for a delicious Korean Ground Beef Bowl, perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
- 1 cup steamed broccoli (or any preferred vegetable)
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- While the beef mixture is cooking, prepare the rice according to package instructions if not already cooked.
- Serve the beef mixture over a bed of rice, topped with steamed broccoli and sliced green onions. Sprinkle with sesame seeds for garnish.
Notes
- For a healthier option, substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef.
- Add a fried egg on top of each bowl for extra protein and flavor.
