- 2 pounds frozen hashbrowns, thawed
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of chicken soup
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup diced cooked ham or crumbled bacon
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed hashbrowns, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, diced ham or bacon, and chopped green onions. Mix until evenly distributed.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the top is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños or a sprinkle of cayenne pepper to the mixture.
- You can substitute the cream of chicken soup with cream of mushroom or a homemade white sauce for a vegetarian option.
