Description

A delicious and hearty dip featuring ground beef, spicy sausage, and a blend of cheeses, perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound spicy sausage
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (16-ounce) can refried beans
  • 1 (10-ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions (for garnish)
  • Tortilla chips (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and sausage until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Reduce heat to low and add the softened cream cheese, refried beans, diced tomatoes, taco seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined and the cream cheese is melted.
  3. Stir in half of the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses, mixing until melted and creamy.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread evenly. Top with the remaining cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
  7. Serve warm with tortilla chips for dipping.

Notes

  • For a spicier dip, add diced jalapeños or a splash of hot sauce to the mixture before baking.
  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, and use low-fat cream cheese and cheese to reduce calories.
