Description
A delicious recipe for New Orleans Spicy Chicken Wings that are crispy, flavorful, and perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken wings, split at the joints and tips removed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
- In a large bowl, combine the chicken wings, olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, oregano, thyme, and hot sauce. Toss until the wings are evenly coated.
- Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer on the wire rack. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are crispy and cooked through.
- For extra crispiness, broil the wings on high for an additional 2-3 minutes, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a milder flavor, reduce the cayenne pepper and hot sauce.
- Try tossing the wings in your favorite BBQ sauce after baking for a different flavor profile.
