Description

A creamy and hearty one-pan dish featuring ground beef, potatoes, and cheese, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 medium potatoes, diced (about 4 cups)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the diced potatoes, beef broth, heavy cream, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer, then cover and reduce heat to low. Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender, stirring occasionally.
  4. Once the potatoes are cooked, stir in the frozen peas and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top. Cover the skillet for a few minutes until the cheese melts.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey for ground beef.
