Description

A delicious and hearty dish combining the flavors of a classic Philly cheesesteak with cheese tortellini.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cheese tortellini
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 pound sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the cheese tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and bell pepper, sautéing until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the sliced sirloin steak to the skillet. Cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and Worcestershire sauce, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for about 3-5 minutes to reduce slightly.
  6. Add the cooked tortellini to the skillet, stirring to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Remove from heat and sprinkle the shredded provolone cheese on top. Cover the skillet for a couple of minutes until the cheese melts.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute the sirloin steak with grilled chicken or sautéed mushrooms.
  • Add sliced jalapeños for a spicy kick or use different cheeses like cheddar or mozzarella for varied flavors.
