Description
A delicious and hearty dish combining the flavors of a classic Philly cheesesteak with cheese tortellini.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces cheese tortellini
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 pound sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the cheese tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and bell pepper, sautéing until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the sliced sirloin steak to the skillet. Cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Stir in the minced garlic and Worcestershire sauce, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for about 3-5 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Add the cooked tortellini to the skillet, stirring to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle the shredded provolone cheese on top. Cover the skillet for a couple of minutes until the cheese melts.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute the sirloin steak with grilled chicken or sautéed mushrooms.
- Add sliced jalapeños for a spicy kick or use different cheeses like cheddar or mozzarella for varied flavors.
