Description
Fresh and zesty Pico de Gallo, a perfect blend of tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and jalapeños.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups ripe tomatoes, diced
- 1 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1–2 jalapeño peppers, seeded and minced (adjust for spice preference)
- 1/4 cup lime juice (about 2 limes)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped onion, minced jalapeño, and chopped cilantro.
- Pour the lime juice over the mixture and sprinkle with salt and black pepper.
- Gently toss all the ingredients together until well combined.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or lime juice to your liking.
- Let the pico de gallo sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. For best results, refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
Notes
- For a fruit twist, add diced mango or pineapple for a sweet and spicy variation.
- If you prefer a milder version, use bell peppers instead of jalapeños or omit them altogether.
