Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into 4 oval patties.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add beef broth, ketchup, and soy sauce. Bring to a simmer.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Stir the slurry into the broth mixture and cook until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
- Return the patties to the skillet, spoon the sauce over them, and let them simmer for an additional 2 minutes.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add sautéed mushrooms to the sauce.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or over egg noodles for a complete meal.
