Description
Delicious grilled salmon burgers topped with fresh avocado salsa, perfect for a healthy meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh salmon fillets, skin removed
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 ripe avocado, diced
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- In a food processor, add the salmon fillets and pulse until coarsely chopped. Transfer to a mixing bowl and combine with breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into 4 equal patties.
- Brush each patty lightly with olive oil to prevent sticking.
- Grill the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks.
- While the burgers are grilling, prepare the avocado salsa by combining the diced avocado, tomato, red onion, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Gently toss to combine.
- Once the salmon burgers are done, serve them on buns topped with the avocado salsa.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños to the avocado salsa.
- Serve the burgers on lettuce wraps instead of buns for a low-carb option.
