Spicy Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs are a delicious and flavorful dish that combines sweet honey, savory soy sauce, and a kick of spice from red pepper flakes, making it a perfect meal for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and ground ginger until well combined.
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken thighs skin-side down and sear for about 5-7 minutes until the skin is golden brown.
- Flip the chicken thighs over and pour the honey garlic sauce over them, making sure they are well coated.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the chicken is cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.
Notes
- For a sweeter flavor, increase the honey to 1/3 cup.
- For a smoky twist, add 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika to the sauce.
