Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (optional for thickening)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and allspice. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes or until cooked through.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the beef broth, heavy cream, and soy sauce. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
- If you prefer a thicker gravy, add the cornstarch mixture and stir until the gravy thickens.
- Add the baked meatballs to the skillet and simmer for an additional 5 minutes, allowing them to soak up the gravy.
- Serve the meatballs warm, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey for the beef and pork.
- For added flavor, incorporate a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce into the gravy.
