Description
A delicious and easy recipe for crispy wonton tacos filled with seasoned ground beef and topped with fresh ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions
- 12 wonton wrappers
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat. Stir in the taco seasoning and cook according to package instructions, usually about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- While the beef is cooling, heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F.
- Take a wonton wrapper and gently press it into a muffin tin to form a taco shell shape. Repeat with remaining wrappers.
- Fry the wonton shells in the hot oil for about 1-2 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Once the wonton shells are cool enough to handle, fill each shell with the seasoned ground beef, then top with shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, a dollop of sour cream, and a sprinkle of green onions.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your crispy wonton tacos!
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add jalapeños or hot sauce to the filling.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version of the tacos.
