Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 12 wonton wrappers
  • Oil for frying

Method

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat. Stir in the taco seasoning and cook according to package instructions, usually about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. While the beef is cooling, heat oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F.
  3. Take a wonton wrapper and gently press it into a muffin tin to form a taco shell shape. Repeat with remaining wrappers.
  4. Fry the wonton shells in the hot oil for about 1-2 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  5. Once the wonton shells are cool enough to handle, fill each shell with the seasoned ground beef, then top with shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, a dollop of sour cream, and a sprinkle of green onions.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy your crispy wonton tacos!
