  • 2 cups uncooked penne pasta
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil optional for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large oven-safe skillet or baking dish, combine the uncooked penne pasta, marinara sauce, water, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.
  3. Cover the skillet or dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  4. Carefully remove the foil and stir the pasta mixture. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  5. Return the skillet to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil if desired before serving.
