  4. Wrap both portions of dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Roll the colored and uncolored dough into ropes and twist together to shape into candy canes.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft; cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
