Ingredients

Slushy Base
  • 1 1/3 cups freshly squeezed orange juice can freeze in cubes for easier blending
  • 1 cup vanilla bean yogurt Greek or plant-based yogurt can be used
  • 2 tablespoons honey can substitute with agave syrup if preferred
Boozy Twist (Optional)
  • 1/2 cup vodka or rum adjust to taste

Equipment

  • high-powered blender
  • ice cube tray
  • Measuring cups
  • chilled glasses

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by pouring 1 1/3 cups of freshly squeezed orange juice into an ice cube tray. Place the tray in the freezer and allow the juice to freeze for about 3 hours, or until completely solid.
  2. Once the orange juice cubes are solid, remove them from the freezer and place them into a high-powered blender. Add the remaining 1/3 cup of orange juice along with the vanilla bean yogurt and honey. If desired, pour in a splash of vodka or rum for a boozy version.
  3. Blend on high until it transforms into a smooth and creamy slushy, approximately 30-45 seconds. If too thick, add a splash of orange juice to loosen, then blend again.
  4. Pour the frosty slushy into chilled glasses and garnish with a slice of fresh orange or a dollop of whipped cream before serving.
