- In a large mixing bowl, combine the green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- If using, fold in the shredded cheddar cheese until well mixed.
- Pour the mixture into the greased casserole dish and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle half of the crispy fried onions on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle with the remaining crispy fried onions.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes until the onions are golden brown.
