Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a bowl or resealable bag, combine soy sauce, sriracha, minced garlic, ginger, toasted sesame oil, red chili flakes, salt, and pepper to create a flavorful marinade. Add the chicken thighs, ensuring they are thoroughly coated. Seal the bag or cover the bowl and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours and up to 8 hours.
  2. Preheat your grill to medium heat (375-400°F) about 15 minutes before grilling.
  3. While the grill heats, mince the green onions and toast the sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Once the grill is ready, remove the chicken from the marinade and place it on the grill. Grill for approximately 10-12 minutes, flipping every 2-3 minutes.
  5. During the last 2 minutes of grilling, brush the chicken with Japanese BBQ sauce.
  6. Check the chicken's internal temperature using an instant-read thermometer; it should reach at least 165°F.
  7. Transfer the chicken to a serving platter, garnish with toasted sesame seeds and green onions, and serve with Yum Yum sauce.
