Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, add 1 cup of vanilla wafer crumbs, 8 oz of softened cream cheese, and 2 cups of powdered sugar, followed by ¼ cup of fresh lime juice, ¼ cup of tequila, and 2 tablespoons of orange liqueur. Blend until the mixture is uniform and sticky, approximately 2-3 minutes.
  2. Cover the mixing bowl tightly and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to firm up the mixture.
  3. Scoop out portions of the dough and roll them into balls, each about 1 inch in diameter, creating a total of around 20-24 balls.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the zest of 1 lime and ¼ cup of granulated sugar, mixing well to distribute the zest.
  5. Roll each chilled ball in the lime zest and sugar mixture until completely coated.
  6. Cover the plate with plastic wrap and refrigerate the finished Margarita Balls for at least 1 hour before serving.
