Ingredients

For the Tea Base
  • 2 cups Water for steeping tea
  • 2 bags Black Tea or loose leaf tea for a fresher experience
For the Mango Puree
  • 2 cups Diced Ripe Mango or substitute with frozen mango
  • 2 cups Water for boiling mango
For Sweetness
  • 2 tablespoons Honey or adjust sweetness as desired
For Serving

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan
  • Fine-Mesh Sieve
  • large pitcher

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by boiling 2 cups of water in a medium saucepan over high heat. Once the water reaches a rolling boil, add your black tea bags or loose leaf tea. Reduce the heat and let the tea steep for about 10 minutes.
  2. In a separate saucepan, boil 2 cups of water and add your diced ripe mango. Allow the mixture to simmer for 10 minutes, mashing the mango with a fork or potato masher as it cooks.
  3. Once both the tea and mango puree are ready, strain the mango mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove any chunks. Pour in the steeped tea, combining both elements while still warm.
  4. Next, add 2 tablespoons of honey to the pitcher, or adjust according to your desired sweetness level. Stir the mixture well until the honey is fully dissolved.
  5. Let the Mango Iced Tea cool to room temperature before refrigerating for about 30 minutes. When you're ready to serve, fill glasses with ice and pour the chilled tea over the ice.
