- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and reserve a cup of pasta water.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add mushrooms in a single layer, sauté for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and tender.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Pour in cream and simmer for 3-5 minutes until thickened.
- Add drained pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat with the sauce. Add reserved pasta water as needed for desired consistency.
- Plate pasta and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Add red pepper flakes if desired. Serve immediately.
