Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and reserve a cup of pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add mushrooms in a single layer, sauté for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and tender.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in cream and simmer for 3-5 minutes until thickened.
  5. Add drained pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat with the sauce. Add reserved pasta water as needed for desired consistency.
  6. Plate pasta and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Add red pepper flakes if desired. Serve immediately.
