For the Marinade
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce light soy sauce recommended
  • 2 tbsp Honey adjust to preferred sweetness
  • 2 tbsp Rice Vinegar apple cider vinegar works as a substitute
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger (grated) use fresh for best aroma
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced) fresh garlic is ideal
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil toasted sesame oil recommended
For Garnish
  • 2 tbsp Green Onions sliced, optional but recommended
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds toasting enhances flavor
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Cilantro (chopped) use as per your personal taste
  • 2 wedges Lime for garnishing

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. In a shallow dish, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, grated ginger, minced garlic, and sesame oil until well combined. Gently place the cod fillets in the marinade and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Pour the leftover marinade into a small saucepan. Heat over medium-low until it simmers, cooking for about 5–7 minutes until thickened.
  3. Choose your cooking method: bake at 400°F (200°C), pan-sear in oil, or grill over medium-high. Each method gives a unique texture.
  4. Cook the cod: bake for 10–15 minutes, pan-sear for 3-4 minutes on each side, or grill for 3-4 minutes per side until fully cooked.
  5. Once cooked, brush the cod with the reduced glaze, transfer to a serving plate, and garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and cilantro. Serve with lime wedges.
