Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add 1 pound of ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the beef is browned and no longer pink, stirring occasionally.
  2. Stir in 1 chopped onion and 2 cloves of minced garlic, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent and fragrant.
  3. Next, add 4 cups of broccoli florets along with ¼ cup soy sauce, 2 tablespoons oyster sauce (if using), 1 tablespoon brown sugar, and ½ cup beef broth. Stir well to coat the broccoli with the sauce.
  4. For a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water in a small bowl until smooth. Pour this slurry into the skillet and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of sesame oil and 1 teaspoon of grated ginger. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed. Serve over cooked rice or quinoa.
