Step 1: Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add macaroni and cook until al dente, about 7–9 minutes. Reserve pasta water, drain, and set aside.
Step 2: Sauté the Vegetables
- In a large skillet, melt butter or olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic, onion, and bell peppers. Sauté for 4–5 minutes until soft.
Step 3: Add the Ground Beef
- Crumble ground beef into the skillet. Cook for 5–7 minutes until no longer pink. Drain excess fat and season.
Step 4: Make it Creamy
- Reduce heat to low and stir in cream cheese, mozzarella, and cheese slices. Stir until melted and combined into a silky sauce.
Step 5: Bring it Together
- Add drained macaroni and reserved pasta water. Stir until noodles are coated with cheese sauce.
