Prepare the Meat Sauce

- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter, then whisk in 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour for 1-2 minutes until bubbling. Gradually pour in 2 cups of whole milk while whisking continuously, cooking until the mixture thickens to a creamy consistency, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese and 2 teaspoons of garlic powder, seasoning with salt and pepper. Remove from heat once well combined.
Assemble the Lasagna
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a greased baking dish, begin layering by spreading a thin layer of the meat sauce across the bottom. Place 4 lasagna noodles (cooked al dente) on top, then drizzle with béchamel sauce and sprinkle with ½ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and ⅓ cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Bake and Rest
- Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. After this time, carefully remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
