Ingredients
  

For the Cod
  • 4 fillets Cod can substitute with halibut or other white fish
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
For the Lemon Butter Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter can use salted butter but adjust seasoning
  • 1/4 cup Lemon Juice freshly squeezed is best
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Zest use zest from unwaxed lemons
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic can substitute with garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil any light oil will work
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme or use fresh herbs
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Parsley or use fresh herbs
For Garnish
  • 1 slices Lemon optional for presentation
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Fresh Parsley can use other herbs like cilantro or dill

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine melted unsalted butter, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, and olive oil. Stir in dried thyme and parsley.
  4. Place cod fillets in the prepared baking dish, seasoning both sides with salt and pepper.
  5. Pour the lemon butter sauce over the cod fillets.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the fish is opaque and flakes easily.
  7. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and add lemon slices before serving.
