Ingredients

For the Patties
  • 1 pound Ground Beef (85% lean) Ground turkey is a lighter alternative.
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Fresh Flat-Leaf Parsley Substitutes include cilantro or chives.
  • 2 cloves Finely Chopped Garlic Garlic powder can also be used.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce Soy sauce is a gluten-free alternative.
  • 1 tablespoon Montreal-Style Steak Seasoning Any favorite steak seasoning can be used.
For the Sandwiches
  • 4 tablespoons Butter (softened) Olive oil is a healthier alternative.
  • 8 slices White Bread Whole grain or gluten-free varieties work well.
  • 8 ounces Colby-Jack Cheese Try cheddar, mozzarella, or gouda for variety.

Equipment

  • Nonstick griddle

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped parsley, finely chopped garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and Montreal-style steak seasoning. Mix gently but thoroughly and shape into three equal patties, about ½ inch thick.
  2. Heat a nonstick griddle over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4-6 minutes on each side until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C). Remove from the griddle and set aside.
  3. Butter one side of each slice of bread. On a clean griddle, place half of the slices buttered side down, top with cheese, a beef patty, another slice of cheese, and the remaining bread slices buttered side up.
  4. Grill the sandwiches over medium heat for approximately 6-10 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  5. Remove from the griddle, let cool slightly, then cut in half and serve.
