Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/4 teaspoon of instant yeast, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Stir until evenly blended.
  2. Pour in 1 1/2 cups of warm water into the flour mixture. Stir until the mixture forms a sticky and shaggy dough.
  3. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and let the dough rise at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours.
  4. Gently fold in 1 cup of grated sharp cheddar cheese into the dough using a rubber spatula.
  5. Transfer the chilled dough onto a floured surface and form it into a round loaf. Allow it to rest for about 30 minutes.
  6. Place your Dutch oven into a cold oven and preheat it to 450°F for 30 to 45 minutes.
  7. Carefully transfer your shaped dough onto a piece of parchment paper in the hot Dutch oven. Cover with the lid and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. After 30 minutes, remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Once baked, remove the Dutch oven and cool the bread on a wire rack for at least 1 hour before slicing.
