Ingredients
  

For the Filling
  • 1 lb Ground Beef or ground turkey/chicken for a leaner option
  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning or homemade seasoning
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce
  • 1 medium Onion diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
For the Tacos
  • 12 count Taco Shells corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil vegetable oil can substitute
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheese cheddar or Mexican blend; consider dairy-free for vegan
For the Toppings
  • 2 cups Shredded Lettuce
  • 1 cup Diced Tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup Cilantro
  • 1 count Jalapeños sliced
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 cup Guacamole

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Gather your ingredients and set taco shells in a greased baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic; sauté until the onion is translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up as it cooks. Stir occasionally until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in taco seasoning and tomato sauce, simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Spoon the meat mixture into the taco shells, then sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and shells are golden brown.
  6. Remove from oven, let cool for a couple of minutes, then top with fresh toppings as desired.
