  • 1 medium cucumber thinly sliced
  • 1 small red onion thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons capers drained
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Begin by toasting the bagel halves until golden brown and crispy.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on each toasted bagel half.
  4. Layer the smoked salmon evenly over the cream cheese on each bagel.
  5. Top the salmon with cucumber slices, red onion slices, and a few capers.
  6. Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate for up to 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
