- Combine minced garlic, ginger, and ground pepper in a separate bowl; mix with a portion of the marinade and coat the chicken. Marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- Heat the remaining marinade in a saucepan until it boils; mix with cornstarch for a glaze.
- Thread marinated chicken onto skewers and preheat the grill to medium-high.
