  • 1/2 cup Milk Any type can be used.
  • 1 large Egg Can substitute with a flax egg.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Rosemary Chopped.
  • 1 tablespoon Honey Optional for sweetness.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Add cold, cubed butter and work it into the dry mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped rosemary.
  5. In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree, milk, egg, and honey until smooth.
  6. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, folding until just combined.
  7. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and gently knead a few times; shape into a 1-inch thick rectangle.
  8. Cut dough into wedges or circles and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. For an extra flaky texture, refrigerate the scones for 15-30 minutes.
  10. Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown; ensure a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
