- Season the chicken with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Brown the chicken in a skillet for 1-2 minutes on each side.
- Transfer the browned chicken into a greased slow cooker, spreading it out evenly.
- In the same skillet, add broth, butter, mushrooms, onion, and garlic. Stir to combine and pour over chicken.
- Cover slow cooker and set to high for 1-2 hours or low for 3-4 hours until chicken is tender.
- Stir in the orzo and cook on high for another 30-45 minutes until orzo is tender.
- Remove chicken, stir contents, return chicken, sprinkle with Parmesan, cover to melt cheese for 5-10 minutes.
- Serve warm, garnished with herbs and black pepper.
