Ingredients
  

  • 8 ounces smoked salmon sliced
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon capers drained and chopped
  • 1 small cucumber thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon red onion finely chopped
  • Fresh dill sprigs for garnish
  • Crackers or toasted baguette slices for serving

Method
 

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, fresh dill, lemon juice, and chopped capers. Mix until smooth and well blended.
  2. Lay out the cucumber slices on a serving platter. If using baguette slices, arrange them in a single layer.
  3. Spread a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture on each cucumber slice or baguette slice.
  4. Top each spread with a piece of smoked salmon, folding it if necessary to fit.
  5. Sprinkle a small amount of red onion on top of the salmon for added flavor.
  6. Garnish each bite with a sprig of fresh dill.
  7. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 30 minutes before serving for a chilled option.
