Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water optional for thickening

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and allspice. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes or until cooked through.
  4. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the beef broth, heavy cream, and soy sauce. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
  5. If you prefer a thicker gravy, add the cornstarch mixture and stir until the gravy thickens.
  6. Add the baked meatballs to the skillet and simmer for an additional 5 minutes, allowing them to soak up the gravy.
  7. Serve the meatballs warm, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
